Goinghuntin
Stopped in at one of my local Wal-Marts last night before they sell off all their guns for good. They still had a few good deals left, one of them being a Mossberg 100 ATR rifle in 30-06. It felt really good in my hands :serenade: Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with them, either good or bad. If it's still there this weekend I'm planning on picking it up. I don't need a rifle with a lot of frills and the 100 ATR doesn't have a lot so it brings the price down into my range. Jeramie
They are a decent buy for the money if youre just wanting a hunting rig. Im sure they will get some bad press but honeslty they are more than adequate to kill deer with (or other game). I wouldnt expect to be shooting comp with them but they are a decent gun for the money. IMHO, if you have to chose between the ATR, the 4x4, and the 710 or 770 Remington (roughly the same price range rifles) I would go with the ATR. They are very basic which in this case is a good thing.
Ethan Givan
I have a friend who bought an ATR. He is very satisfied with it. They are a simple gun, but who needs a fancy rifle to scratch and beat around in the bushes to kill a deer? When the ATR came out a couple years ago, Field & Stream tested it and gave good reviews as well. I dont think you will regret the purchase. dbHunterNY
I wasn't on the ball to get a club raffle ticket. One of the guns in the raffle is a Mossberg 100 ATR Night Train chambered in .308 Win. It looked like a cool gun.
Goinghuntin
I have a friend who bought an ATR. He is very satisfied with it. They are a simple gun, but who needs a fancy rifle to scratch and beat around in the bushes to kill a deer? I read a few other reviews on the ATR and they all said that same thing. I don't think I ever found a bad review on it. As long as Wal-Mart still has it this Friday night I'm going to pick it up Nathan

huntnfish
Never heard anything bad about them. If it is a good deal grab it.
