DropTine49
I'm at a loss, no one that hunts our land has shot at this deer and if he has been shot I do not see how he is still living. Does this look like a possible fighting wound?
Buckhunter76
I would have to believe its a battle wound, cause my opinion if it was a shot it definitely would have killed him for sure. Being just a battle wound wouldn't be deep enough to hit his lungs or any vital.
DropTine49
That's what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure if a straight down shot would be possible and still not make it in far enough to kill him either.
wtnhunt
No telling, but don't think that is a shot.
c_lou
Looks like he got gored. Doesn't look like any type of shot wound.
The Kid
what about a fence? idk he looks like he needs a trip to the er though
Tetro
To me he definitely got cut, either from a fence or a fight. The wound looks too clean and straight to be from an arrow.
abear491
i would venture to guess a battle wound.. I agree with above probably caught it on a fence
arrow32
I would say a battle wound or something of the sort.
Tominator
I would guess fence or something like that. Don't know that an antler could cause that clean of a cut.
92xj
I would say form a shot. The deer was directly under a stand. Hunter shot and missed to the left causing the broadhead to 'unzip' the skin. I have seen, on two different accounts, of that happening. I am not sure what in the woods would create such a clean cut. If it was a gore from an antler or a snag on a fence, the skin would be ripped, this looks like a perfectly clean cut.

woolybear
Looks like the infamous 'black hole' or 'dead zone' in the vitals that arrows pass through when game goes unrecovered from a seemingly perfect shot. That guy seems to be evolving to a whole new level.:jaw:
Ravin R10 man
could be just about anything..poor shot striaght down under the stand...steel fence post..possibly got tined..whatever it was he's lucky to be alive
brad dryden
I would guess he got caught on something or maybe he got clips by a car. He may live but then again flies and maggots may take over and he get weak and die.
