Shaun_300
Up here anyway to grow the facial hair out for hunting season! Just wondering if it's a yearly tradition around the continent to grow a beard or goatee or any kind of facial hair for the hunting season. Most people up here usually grow something on the face! Haven't shaved for over a week myself, gonna shave the lower neck part for now and that's about it.:cowboy:
92xj
I always shave my beard with the smallest gaurd to give it the 'rough' look but shave the lower neck jaw line and down with a razor. I have not touched the upper part all week preparing for opening of Duck this saturday. I plan to grow it out to keep warm during season. Shaun_300
Good I'm not the only one. Most people do let them grow up here some way or another. I just let everything grow above the jaw line. Just shaved everything below with the razor, everyone says it must be hunting season if you're growing a beard. Strut10
Work appearance code prohibits facial hair other than a moustache 1/2" wider than Hitler's. No huntin' whiskers here.

HUNTINGMAN
Haven't shaved I a month, just my neck and under jaw. I grow my beard out every fall and don't shave it until it starts to warm back up. My wife hates it when I grow it out,she says it hides my pretty face. I think she's full of poo and I hope it gets long, bushy, thick and nasty looking just for her enjoyment.
brudaman340
I grow mine out thicker for deer season. I heard a theory as to why people grow there beards out for hunting because it breaks up your face its like natural camouflage. About 2 deer seasons ago I grew my beard for deer season for the first time and me and my girlfriend liked it so I kept it. I only shaved it off one time and just trim it up when needed. MUDRUNNER
I've never really shaved regularly anyways. In the summer I shave about every 3 or 4 days and have a goatee. In winter I do the same as XJ and use the short guard. My buddies and I were actually thinking about all growing mustaches for gun season here....sort of a rally mustache like the Cardinals grew last year for their playoff run.
wtnhunt
Been a long time since I have been without a beard, do let it get a little longer during deer seasons though.
ckrich
I always grow a beard during the fall and winter. Gotta have that man-o-flage to cut the winter chill.

dbHunterNY
There's no definite rules at my work. However, being an engineering consultant in dress clothes and a tie, there's the unwritten rule of being cleanly shaved to an extent. So no huntin' beard here. I've got uncles and cousins that practice the tradition.
Doc
I put my beard and mustache on back in 1972, and it never came off ...... still there. It's a whole lot whiter now .... ha-ha ..... but it's the same style and length. It helps people remember that old man when I come walking at them ..... woolybear
I'm doing just the opposite this year....gonna go into season bald as a beachball and babys butt smooth.
huntnfish
I take vacation the opening week of gun in NC and GA. I do not shave while on vacation but shave it off before heading back to work.
pruts
I almost always have a goatee and clip the rest with #0 maybe once a week or week and a half... lucky my wife likes it, she didn't even want me to shave on our wedding day. I grew up in a hockey family and only started hunting last year, but I think the hunt beard is sort of the same as a playoff beard. More superstition than anything
The_Kat
I have had a goatee for years, but I don't let it grow any longer than a week or so before trimming it. It gets to scratchy, plus I look like an even bigger idiot than normal lol.
bfletch7441
Grown a beard a few times. Last time I found some gray in it, and off it came. Won't put it back on until there's gray on top to match it. Ben
gzilla45
Three years ago for deer season I grew a beard and still have it to this day. I keep it neatly trimmed except for deer season. Now I just let it go and don't really care. Shortly before Christmas I'll make it nice again otherwise my mother will have some nice words for me regarding the pictures. elkoholic
I used to all the time until my employer of the past 12+ years, whose dress code only allows a mustache that does not drop below lower lip level. They seem to think that a beard is unprofessional looking, which here in Montana certainly goes against the norm.
kingfisherfd2
I have done deer season is beard season for about 4 years now. Last year I didn't shave or cut my hair the whole season. I didn't kill last year so kept my goatee all year. and just started the rest of the beard back at the start of the season. I'm planning on keeping it cut back this year.
