Flintlock1776
So, I got the Doe on 9.11.10 and 31 one days later I got this buck. 10 yard shot, arrow went through although I did not find it. All but 2 deer in my career went straight down, the other two went about 20 yards and down but this buck? Down the freaking hill, across the stream and he started to go up the hill but, thankfully, he expired. It took me one hour to get up the damp and slippy hill; across the field and off to the processors. I have some bumps and bruises to remember that hard haul. For some reason this year the Hunters Feeding the Hungry Program did not fill out the quota of donated deer so, in lieu of the small required $10 donation and letting them keep the deer for the needy, I added some money to help the program going. I have until the end of 2/11 so I'll be able to fill my freezer but I thought the needy could use it first. Anyway, here are pics of delivery to the processors and they let me keep the antler for the heck of it. Click on photo. TeamBuckxlimp
Don't tell me that's a legal buck from where you're from?

fly
Nice job on the 6-pointer flint! Haven't had much luck my last couple outings. That October lul has hit. I did see a fresh scrape this morning. The tracks inside were small. Hoping it was from a visiting doe and not the buck that made it. Two more weeks and it's go time! This is my favorite time of the year right now, the hardwoods are alive with color!
Flintlock1776
No lull here, very odd. Bucks all over; does in big groups. I also had a very wide 4 pointer, very symmetrical but he dodged my attempts. For those with kind comments, thanks. For morons, welcome to the ignore button. Flintlock1776
Congrats on your buck! Very nice of you for the donation too, way to go. Thanks, I can chase does until 10/29 if I choose; then the next Buck season rolls in. Not sure but the rut may happen before then. I see the tiny bucks starting to chase the does already. I hope the rut is on when I can try for a big one!

Rhino
Congrats Flintlock...look at the drag this way...at least he didn't run downhill deep into a briar thicket like some buddy's of mine I've been helping track & drag this season.
