Did ya knock any down? I moved from KY to NC about 7 years ago & only got to come back to KY to hunt a couple of times so far. I heard a report from my buds who hunt Peabody, but no luck on their end. They said blue tonge had hit there twice in the last 5 years & the deer population is way down. NC gun season opened in the eastern part of the state on the 16th. I had a buck walk undr my stand (not sure how big), but it was to dark to shoot. Multiple does fed in the corn piles throughout the day, but the buck never showd back up.

Blue tongue hit up in my area hard a couple years ago. Our deer population hasnt been the same since and I have seen a slow decline in numbers over the last several years. IMO the KDFWR needs to limit everyone to one doe and a buck per year for a few years to get the deer herd back to what it was 10 years ago. There isnt that many deer out there anymore, or not in the Hardin and Grayson county area anyway.

I also moved to NC from Ky. I went back last week and got to hunt one day. It was the best one day of hunting I've ever had. Deer came out 10 minutes after I got into the stand and were in the field when i climbed down. Saw 11 total and one big buck that was about 300 yards out. I was bow hunting, so no luck on the big boy, but I did miss a doe right at dark. Even though I missed it was awesome just being back in Ky hunting.
