Not Looking Good For #1 Again.

That's what you punks get for doing our "Jump Around"!

That was an awesome game from my bar stool. I've never seen Wisconsin beat a #1 team before. Aside from the Rose Bowl wins, this is easily the biggest win I've seen as a Badgers fan.

Last night would have been the absolute perfect night to be in Madison.:drink: I would imagine all UW colleges went pretty crazy last night.

NO IDENITY ON OFFENSE...

Pretty obvious Pryor was at about 70% too because of his quad. That cost them, I think if he could have scrambled at full speed, they may have given them a better game. OSU got pushed around on defense.

Again, I love Tressel, but why in the world did he punt down two scores with a few minutes left in the game...and also, again, opting for a FG down 21-0 when you have the ball on the three yard line. What are you doing, Tressel? Not to mention, the goalline play calling was inexcusable. This BS option out of the pistol formation? Line up, run the ball and mix in a little play action. This is OSU, use the I-formation Tress!!!!

You can't say that the offense and play calling lost that game. The defense was non-existent, and the special teams were....well......down by 7 with 14:45 left in the first quarter says it all.......let alone the missed FG....

This was a team loss, not an offensive loss, or a play calling loss. Nothing was working. They could have played that game at the shoe and the outcome would have been the same.

To be honest, I never thought this team was good enough to be considered the #2 team in the nation going into this season. When you lose your defensive core, and you are a defensive football team, bad things happen.

Very well said. I agree 100%

Hey eveyone, have you met Jim Tressel's PR man yet?

Hey Tom, how are you?

Don't get me wrong, hats off to the Badgers. I was worried about this game, more than any other on their schedule, but play calling and game management...AGAIN...was very suspect and that seems to happen far too often in BIG GAMES. I'm not saying they should have won, but the game management was deplorable, and the coaches didn't put their players in the best position to make it a game.

The Buckeyes had zero swagger and that opening kick return seemed to have WAY too much of an impact on the players psyche. Teddy Ginn returned the opening kick off against the Gators, they didn't seem to wilt though, to say the least.

Area where coaching showed a lack of confidence, and cost the Buckeyes chances:

1.) OSU second offensvie play call, an option out of the Pistol. First time they've run that all year, and it was after a 14 yard completion to Posey...what's been their bread-n-butter all year. Stupid call and it resulted in a drive killing 12 yard loss on the bad pitch.

2.) They needed to use their safeties to help stop the run. We all knew how good Wisconsin's Oline was, how good John Clay was. OSU's front 7 was being owned. Hines was used in run support on 3 plays that I saw...not enough. Bring him down, even bring both he and Johnson down. If you get beat over the top...so be it, at least you're making Wisconsin get away from what they do best.

3.) Again, stupid red zone playcalling in the first half. RUN THE BALL or call play action with Pryor. Instead, they went back to more of that option/pistol crap we haven't seen all year and seemed timid to throw into the end zone. BS. When they stayed committed to the run with Boom Herron, they scored in the red zone in the 2nd half.

4.) Not calling time out at the end of the first half. We stopped them on 2nd and 14, a time out there would have left them with a hard 3 and 14. Stop them, call another time out and you have a shot a good field position with about 50 seconds left. Instead they let Wisc chew clock, then took a knee to finish the half.

5.) Kicking a FG down 21-0 in the 2nd quarter when you only need 3 yards.

6.) Punting with 6 minutes to go, down 2 scores.

That's on the coaches, and their apparent lack of faith in their team. OVERLY CONSERVATIVE. You played scared, you lose. They were the #1 team in the country. You come out and punch people in the mouth, don't be timid.

There's a reply you'll never see to one of your quotes Eric. I always liked DoubleD's..........philosophy. :D

I'm going hunting tonight, how about you?

I know, the accuracy of my points usually aren't clear until you guys have about two weeks to digest the intricacy.

It was a poorly coached game, Tom, no way around it. Again, I'm not calling for a coaching change, but the facts are the facts. Poor game management and poor game planning. You can't blame the defensive line for that.

They aren't who we thought they were! They aren't who we thought they were! :D And they let us off the hook.....

And if you want to crown them, then crown their ***.

LMAO

:D

Right up there with "Playoffs? Playoffs?...."

And... "Maaaaan, we talking about practice. I could see if it was a game, but this is practice maaaan..."

And...."I'm a man, come at me....."

:D

Realistically, we never were a #1 or a #2 team in the nation......that's all I'm saying. Some Buckeye fans let media outlets, like ESPN, fill their heads with grand visions of a national championship season, now they are in something similar to loser denial. The Buckeyes are not losers, but they aren't one of the best teams in the nation this year. This loss was like a cold bucket of ice water dumped on some in their sleep. To most, we realized that when the core - the very heart - of our defense left, we were going to be hurting. We lost to Wisconsin because of (in this order) defense, special teams, offense, coaching.

listen, its the same old BS every year when Ohio State loses a game. We all know what they should have done and they didnt do it , thats why they lost. they didnt show up to play.....PERIOD. You can blame Sweater vest all you want and it still will not change the outcome. the players missed tackles and were manhandled. Look at what tress has accomplished while he has been there. sure they have lost a few huge games , but their record under tress is pretty good. I am not a Buckeye fan by no means but i am tired of all the excuses of why they lost. they didnt play good ball and Wisconsin did.......THE END.

Wisconsin played a great game and has a great running game/Oline. But it was a poorly coached game by Tressel, anyone that's being honest with themselves can't agrue that fact.

Tommy, the Buckeyes have one of the deepest backfields in the nation, one of the better QBs in the nation (if you use his skillset correctly), and returned more starters than any other team in the nation coming off an impressive Rose Bowl win over the current #2 team in the country (who also returned more starters than any other team besides OSU).

To say they weren't a legit title contender is comical...because they sure as heck were.

Tressel tightens up in big spots and seems too timid to trust his team (and especially his QB)...he did the same thing with Troy Smith at first, when he finally trusted him, TSmith won the Heismann.

The guy is a good coach and has great character...but he's drop the ball in big games more than once.
