Strut10
Poor genetics. Talked to Charlie on Friday night and showed him the pics of these two bucks that are roaming the Strut10 Ranch. There's been much discussion in another thread here, on them, and wanted to hear what the expert had to say about it. Poor genetics. Yep. ruttinbuc
Yes, I talked to Charlie some time ago at a church dinner. Pretty much the same. Short and to the point.

wtnhunt
Shame that first one is not matched up, that good side is pretty nice. Have not kept up with what has been posted about the PA AR's, do they protect those unmatched deer or is it 4 pts on a side is fair game? Just hard to burn your one and only buck tag on misfits like them.
dbHunterNY
Up here we can get land owner nuisance permits I think. We've got some of those genetics here too, but there here to stay. My dad doesn't let anyone shoot doe.
Tetro
Where I am, if he had antlers he'd be down, no matter on his genetics or not. There no guarantee on a better coming along. Plus because the way the deer can travel through the property. If we don't take him, chances are the gang on the other side of the property will. Rhino
That 1st buck also looks like he lost something in....well lets just say his package some time in the past. We see those here too Don along with some good bucks too. We just take the good with the bad and live with it. The most important thing is we have a 3 gobbler bag limit in the spring!
wtnhunt
Too bad, did not know you guys only got one buck tag. You probably already thought of this Don, but maybe not. Maybe let some youngsters hunt specifically for those misfits? Sure some nieces or nephews or one of your kids school friends might be tickled with some of those bucks. Just a thought. This may not be such a bad idea but I'm sure these genetics are all over the area, not just your spread. I hope you come up with some type of a solution Don.
