philray
Anyone know anything about a TC Impact? I am looking for a low cost muzzleloader and this is the one I am considering. I figured it would be better than going with CVA or Traditions? Any thoughts?
Goinghuntin
Just out of curiosity, what do you have against a CVA? I shoot an Optima and I'm very happy with it. Nathan
maddhunter
The TCs are great guns, you can't go wrong with one. I myself have 2 CVAs and can drill a 3 shot 2" group at 100 yrds with both of them, a Kodiak and a Nickel Wolf. The difference is the craftmanship. A TC is going to be tighter and have a bit smoother action and you more than likely won't have to shave the stock and they come with better accesseries like the Power Rod. They are also have a bit better feal and balance. The paper doesn't always relct the cost of the gun. I have a friend that won't own anything but a TC but I can still outshoot his $800 smokepole with my $150 smokepole.
dbHunterNY
I've never heard of a TC shooting bad and the problem being the gun. The QLA is a feature I like to start the slug/sabot and the adjustable buttstock is huge if you have a young hunter use it. I haven't played with one but the break action looks robust enough. The TC Power-Rod doesn't come with it but I've found them at Walmart for $30. The power rod is a great feature. CVA and Traditions are alright too. It's hard to say any one is better than the other. They all rust if you don't take care of them and you can get any of them to shoot well with some testing and time.
