hoosierhunter
We need a break on the weather to get anything exceited except little bucks!
Stinger-Hunter
Been hunting near Momence and haven't even seen any rubs lately. No scrapes near the hunting stand (where there is usually a big one). I say one more week and the hunting, seeing, and shooting will improve. I may go out in the morning as well. I saw 4 does yesterday 25 yards from my stand - too many branches to take a shot. Looking forward to out-flanking them.
HOYTnMUZZYboy
I have been out as much as work allows. So pretty much everyday after work and on the weekends :soda: I have seen the rubs and scrapes start to really pop out the last 3 or 4 days. I didn't go out lastnight and wont tonight due to the high winds we are getting but if the winds subside I will be out tommorrow for sure. I talked with a buddy of mine the other day and he said he had a lil buck come by grunting but haven't heard of anything big being seen during daylight as of yet. It's getting close tho, supposed to be a high of 48 here Thursday, so hopefully that will help get things started!
cflhunter
We're heading up to your neck of the woods on Nov. 6th - 13th. Hopefully we'll hit it just right!
rad_112176
This cold front should really help kickstart things. I think you should start to see good movement this weekend and start the early rut tactics. I unfortunately won't be in the woods this weekend but have cams out and have my brother checking them once this week and once next. Really thinking you will see great movement in 2 weeks. AceArcher
I went out on the 20th and no rubs at all in a area that I hunt. Went back on Sunday morning the 24th and saw no less than 15 different rubs on the road leading into that area. Been seeing lots of deer in the mornings. My buddy hunting this morning over a decoy and had 2 130's come in on the decoy. Rut is starting to get kicked off just like clockwork. Tommorow morning should be fun...hope to cross paths with the 180 incher that I am after on the above mentionied farm.
fly
Seems like places within an hour of each other can be different. Major rutting activity (buck hearding a doe, running into trees like he was crazy) 3rd week in October. Other place I hunt it's just now staring. Scrapes, rubs, saw a buck bedded with 2 does. All in all the first 2 weeks of Novermber is your best bet.

layin on the smackdown
Im in Marion County and I have finally seen a mature buck on his feet in daylight at 10 am this morning...first mature one i have seen in daylight all season so far...He was sure on a mission too, cruisin for some love i think. I hit him with a few grunts, and all he did was stop and look in my direction...Then i nailed him with a snort wheeze, and he stopped and stared in my direction for about 10 seconds, then put his nose to the ground and was hot on some girls trail...i wonder who, because i didn't see one doe all morning, but she may have come through some time last night. Finally some signs of life!!! Edited November 6, 2010 by layin on the smackdown
ilhnter
Not much happening in Pulaski / Alexander counties. Saw some bucks still traveling together late last week and very few scrapes being seen. Going back out tomorrow so we'll see if anything has picked up yet.
