Hoosierbuck
I think I might give him one more year to add some more mass...but I have shot some good ones. When I was getting started...no way would I have passed on him. He's good now, maybe he could be bloody great! HB
Tominator
Good pass. At least you got the width right. He's wide enough for sure.

250savage
Yes i would, but not intentionally. If i saw that in bow range i would probably fall out of my tree stand! XD
Strut10
Yes i would, but not intentionally. If i saw that in bow range i would probably fall out of my tree stand! XD LOL!!! You see, 250, there are places in the USA that a feller can pass on dinks like that. They don't realize that a deer like that would get your picture above the fold on the front page of the Leader Times. Just imagine how big them Ohio bucks could be if they had gary Alt to improve their herd. swohiodave
around here he would be toast...too many guys on the farm that would shoot him.
92xj
Nope, and he would be on my wall.
abear491
depending on what you know what is around.. and the hunting pressure but if you didn't know either of those things it would be smoke city
GWSmith
around here he would be toast...too many guys on the farm that would shoot him. Same here...though on the private farm I hunt it has other people who would have killed him 2 years ago.:hammer2:
redkneck
Nice deer Tom. I wouldnt pass him here for sure, but you did a good thing, he's not a mounter in my book.
ruttinbuc
In Ohio I might, but not here. He wouldn't make it past the next guy.
wtnhunt
Nope Tom, sure couldn't. Not with the bow anyway. Here at home, that deer would not walk past me with the rifle, looks like at least a 3.5 year old. If I was hunting elsewhere where I knew there were much better deer around I might be inclined to let him walk, that in mind think you probably did the right thing. Ohiobucks
The thing that made me pass was the G3 on his right side, just a short little thing. That, coupled with the fact that this big boy is presumed to still be in the area (picture from late Jan '10): And this guy has made several trail cam appearances this year for the neighbor: Sure was trying though, but I never took my bow off the hook....... ruttinbuc
The exact same reasoning for me here. However, my heel is starting to get closer to my butt!
Rhino
To answer your question Tom...Yep. And I get 3 bucks here in MS to your 1. Passed one bigger than that last year in MS for the same short G3 reason. He had longer 2's and better mass though. Good pass! You grow them a lot bigger up there than that so no sense ending your buck hunting season now before they start rutting good up there. Even if that big boy isn't around there are sure to be bigger ones around than the one you passed.
MCH
Depends.....if I was hunting in Oklahoma, he'd be dead. Ohio? Nope...there's bigger deer in dem der woods.
ckrich
Looks like he had a little angel riding on his shoulder, because if he would have walked in front of my stand in Oklahoma he would be in the cooler right now. Now the other two I probably would let walk(<<<~~~~read as missed/fell out of stand/hid from buddies for rest of season)
c_lou
He is nice buck but knowing there are other big ones in the area, would allow me pass.
Tominator
Think those two share some genes Tommy?
dbHunterNY
Tom, Chris, and Al what the heck! You guys have got it made! None of those deer would be passed out here. Lots of the neighbors have the saying that if "it's brown, it's down". We've been working on them a little, but the mentality is short lived once the season is more than a week or two old. I wish it would change to shotgun from rifle around here too. Give people a little less range and the deer more of a chance.
