wtnhunt
Same as usual, around the 3rd week of November for the peak rutting activity.
ckrich
I didn't get to go out this weekend, but I've had three reports of bucks starting to chase in the north part of the state. My grandpa took a decent 10 pt. that came in on a run and started working the does on the field.
Tominator
Pretty much believe in the moon guide, so I'm thinking late this year, 3rd week of November with good pre-rut stuff now and getting better as we enter November. I'm seeing more and more road kill, Ohiobucks saw a nice one last night, and we saw a really nice one on the way home. Hope the weather cooperates. This 70 degree stuff has to go! Dawg
It should be kicking in soon in SE Texas. Just had the Hunter's Moon, so it won't be long.

Ethan Givan
I think our rut will peak around the 2nd or 3rd week of November. We are supposed to get a cold front moving in middle of this week and with Halloween this weekend I look for pre-rut activity to really pick up. The young bucks are already harrassing the does, and sparring. I rattled and grunted in two, 2.5 year old bucks Saturday morning and saw a young buck checking some does last thurs. evening. Once we get this cold weather in here, it should get nothing but better.

Texan_Til_I_Die
The chasing is starting now. The actual rut, when the bucks lock down with the does, will be the 2nd or 3rd week of November.
hunter109
yea the small bucks are trying to find the does that are comming in first i gess
hoosierhunter
2nd full moon is almost the latest it can possibly be. Won't happen again for something like 78 years? I did see that in a D&DH mag article. I guess 3 weeks later than last year which they predicted the main rut to hit Nov 21st-24th. Wowsers is all I can say if it's that late. It's gonna be a massacre in IN this year if it hits during the main gun season!
Rhino
Well the chase phase usually starts kicking in my part of MS around Dec. 20th and lockdown usually starts around Dec. 31st and last 2 to 3 days. Then some late rutting activity begins again but certainly not as hot as the period before breeding begins. That is give or take a few days. That info certainly doesn't help anyone with typical November rutting times. :D I hope y'all are right about the later November rutting times. I'm headed to Kansas on the 13th to hunt from the 14th through the 20th.
Flintlock1776
Depends on the state. I hunt in Alabama in January when the 'Bama rut kicks in.

Tominator
Wowsers is all I can say if it's that late. It's gonna be a massacre in IN this year if it hits during the main gun season! Yeah! In a way, I hope it is that late. My 2nd son will kick off his deer hunting career during the youth gun season which is slated for the 20-21st of November this year. Jorden
I did see that in a D&DH mag article. I guess 3 weeks later than last year which they predicted the main rut to hit Nov 21st-24th. Wowsers is all I can say if it's that late. It's gonna be a massacre in IN this year if it hits during the main gun season! Thats the opening of our gun season as well. I put a lot of stock in Alshiemers rut prediction articles. They seem to be pretty close every year. It that article it also said that come the full moon at the end of Oct, which was last weekend, that there would be a small, but intense amount of activity because a few does would be coming into estrous early and then activity would drop off for a week or two before picking up again. The last couple times out Ive seen a few small bucks checking out does and trail cameras have show that the bigger bucks are hitting the scrapes and are moving through places we havent seen them yet this year.
