Rhino
This past Thursday morning I had just climbed down our of my stand and untied my bow when I see a group of gobblers moving my way. I leaned up against the tree and froze with my bow at my side. The group of 6 gobblers got within 15 yards of me when I noticed the one with the long beard had 2 spurs on his left leg. I've seen pics of it before but never seen it myself. As they began to ease away I managed to get my binocs up (10x50's) to confirm my sighting...yep nice sharp hooked spurs with a 2nd sharp spur just above the main spur on his left leg. Too cool. I'll try to find him next spring.

Rhino
It sure will Andy & I know right where I'll have one of my trail cams set too. Sure hope I can get him up close on a trail cam. I've been getting this same group of gobblers this summer on trail cams but the alyce clover planted (along with weeds) in the plot where I've gotten them was too tall to see anything below their breast. BTW...this is the same place where I got pics in February of the bird I thought was a double beard that turned out to be a triple beard when I killed him. Good chance I'll be able to catch him on a cam before spring but he'll have to be pretty close to see his spurs.
Strut10
That would make a very unique trophy!! Good luck on cracking his noggin this spring.
PA_Spike_King
Yep, a turkey with 2 spurs on one leg has to be very uncommon. Good luck on wacking him next spring Al.
3seasons
Hey Al that’s awesome that will be a rare bird to try to take. I know its not the same but can you get you a fall tag and try to stick him with your bow? Nothing like spring hunting but for a double spurred bird i would make an exception. Thats what I was thinking. Here fall archery deer and fall archery turkey seasons are the same so I make sure to get my fall turkey tags. Never know when a group will come by your stand. Never seen a double spurred bird before.

There's 2 of us that turkey hunt our place...we both agreed we'd just hunt them in the spring. Fall season is short and there's really nothing like hunting gobbling, drumming, strutting turkeys. I may have to carry my 10X50 Swarovski binocs some next spring though. I'll also have some trail cams running a lot around there from the beginning of February through the spring season too. Without a doubt, I'll be listening for them to determine preferred roost sites during deer season too.
Goinghuntin
Here fall archery deer and fall archery turkey seasons are the same so I make sure to get my fall turkey tags. Never know when a group will come by your stand. Never seen a double spurred bird before. Same here. I got a combination gun/bow tag for fall turkey so that I can either take a bird from my stand or go sit at the base of a tree with my wife cause she isn't bowhunting this year.
