Guest MattA311
Anyone ever check out Hi-Point pistols? $150 gets you a 9mm, 40 S&W or a .45acp... they sport a lifetime warrenty!! Anything goes wrong you send it in and they fix it for you! They're mostly plastic and i'm assuming that's why they're so cheap.. but I put a good 150 rounds into my buddys gun and it never jammed once, I was firing fast too. It was also very accurate. For the price and the lifetime warrenty I am considering buying one. Seems like you can't go wrong for the price.

Jeramie
Re: Hi-Point firearms.. $150, too cheap? I have a tendency to agree....You get what you pay for (to some degree). A buddy of mine bought a 9mm for his wife. I didn't much care for it. It seemed to cheap to cycle rounds through. I guess if it was a "Just because it was cheap," gun that would be one thing. My brother and brother in law both have ruger 9mm's. Much better quality and for very little more cash. My .40S&W is a S&W Sigma. It cost a little more coin then the HP but it was well worth it. Gator
Re: Hi-Point firearms.. $150, too cheap? I have one, bought it to just "mess" around with, couldn't justify $200+ for a pistol. Have yet to have any problems with it.

I would not want to trust my life with it.

slugshooter
Re: Hi-Point firearms.. $150, too cheap? It seems that everyone one here that owns one, likes it and hasn't had any problems with it, and those that may or may not say, " you get what you pay for." I personally won't buy one, just because it doesn't look like it is well made, and well, I'll admit, it doesn't have a "brand" name. But the guys on here that own one say it's a good gun and haven't had any problems. I've never owned or fired one and haven't heard of any problems like malfuntions or explosions, all I hear is, don't get it, I wouldn't trust my life with it. Is there any credible evidence that this gun could endanger your life?

[/ QUOTE ] What I meant by my comment is I would not use it as a protection gun. I am sure it won't blow up or go to pieces in the shooter's hands, but will it function reliably every time when you need it? Put 5,000 - 10,000 rounds through one and see how it functions and holds up. Then you can say its a good gun.
Guest MattA311
Re: Hi-Point firearms.. $150, too cheap? I'd never put that many rounds through it to begin with.. no need. Plus that get's expensive.. and the day I actually need a firearm to save my life is the day I need to move somewhere else.. I doubt seriously the latter would ever happen. I just want this gun to screw around with and shoot a little bit when i'm up at my cabin. For the price I figured I can't go wrong.

[/ QUOTE ] Well, I have a Springfield XD, I got one cause it was comparable to a Glock as far as all the tests performed and the price was better. The 2nd round I ever fired in it jammed, when all the tests performed the guns went 1000's of rounds without a malfunction. So, by this standard, my gun would be considered unreliable because I have had one jam in 300 or so rounds.
