brent
I am very fortunate to hunt this year in Warren County, Illinois , but it the week of Thanksgiving. I usually hunt Pope County the week before . What can I expect in relation to the rut ? This year will be special because my 11 year old son will be accompanying me. Any info that could be passed on would be greatly appreciated!

need2hunt
The deer should still be moving pretty good, two main factors will probably be weather and how much gun pressure your area had the weekend before.
brent
Thanks guys private land no hunters at all hopefully, sounds like we will have a great time, Maybe pressure around the property will increase our chance of deer using it as a refuge. I hope . thanks again
AceArcher
The peak of the rut is usually Nov. 1 - 14. However, there are does on either side of this so you should be alright. If you have private land with no hunting pressure then count yourself lucky. Good luck to you and your son.
