3seasons
The Ramcats caught my eye so I bought a pack and had to give them a try because I really liked the idea of they way they work. I’ve shot MX-3's for the past two years so it would take a good head to make me swap. I decided to give the Ramcat a test before I would nock one on an animal and this is what I came up with. Accuracy is top notch, same as fieldtip no question. I shot two times and this is what I did; a field tip at 30yds hit the 2"circle, MX-3-Circle, and the Ramcat-Circle. The difference was penetration. I was shooting into a Shotblocker target. My field tip arrow would go in up to the label on my goldtip arrow. The MX-3 would go all the way to about an inch or two from the fletching and stop. The Ramcat first shot was 7yds behind the target after passing threw it. The second shot, my arrow finally stopped after skipping down my driveway for 25yds. The tip looked fine. I was impressed with the accuracy and penetration, but I wanted to make sure the head would hold up so I decided to shoot a piece of tin and see what it would do. I shot the tin 3 times at 30yds, my fletchings stopped the arrow from going threw the tin and the target. The only minimal damage found was the very tip of the blades curved back but didn’t break. They were still somewhat sharp, they would still stick on you fingernail. I decided after all that I would give them a try and I was able to give them a good field test this past Saturday. I shot a cull 5+yr old 4pt. The shot was at 10yds and my arrow entered the top of one shoulder blade busting a rib and then threw the lungs busting another rib and then exiting the offside shoulder blade. My arrow broke and I never found my broad head which I am disappointed in, I wanted to see how it held up after hitting all that bone. But upon cleaning the deer there was a perfect star-hole coming out of the offside shoulder blade so the head held up great. Anyway just my $.02 on the head, I really like them and hope to be able to post more about them as the season goes on.
HUNTINGMAN
Sounds like you have found yourself one heck of a broadhead. Congrats on the buck.
Jeramie
That does sound like a decent broadhead! May have to check into them. Ive considered carrying a good mechanical for those broadside shots.
3seasons
Jeramie, these aren't mechanical heads they are a fixed blade hybrid. They are a 1 3\8" cut fixed blade head that if you dont get a passthrough the blades will fold foward towards the tip giving it a 1 3\4" back cut on the way out. The blades are sharpened on both sides.

3seasons
I was boning out my deer yesterday and found by broadhead. It had worked its way back into the shoulder right at the elbow joint. It did some major damage. It held up great after going threw all that bone. The first shoulder blade had a hole where the two muscles meet, right where that bone T's off the blade. Two of the blades were bent just a little on the tips but the head was still 100% intact. Two of the three blades would still shave. Very happy with the outcome.
