Newarcher
This entire saga is old news but this is the actual video of the hunt...all made up and I can't help but feel sick at my stomach over Troy Gentry and this POS Lee guy. Absolutely disgusting. You'll have to ignore the anti-hunting narration but this is worth seeing. Anyone who ever hunted bear or has seen how a bear reacts to being arrowed should know this is wrong. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2e5_1288136726 Very very very sickening. Troy Gentry has received the last of my dollars, the SOB gives us all a bad name. This isn't what we stand for nor how we hunt. New
redkneck
IF..... and that's a big IF.... I take that video at face value from an anti-hunting group, I would say it is absolutely a very sickening thing to watch. I don't know why someone of such fame would first choose to hunt a captive animal when they would most likely have the means to hunt any bear on the continent, and secondly have the gall to put up such a pack of lies as this to try to fool the public. I can't imagine that anyone is so naive as to think a bear that had been photographed and known to be owned by that guy would not get busted in a dumb attempt at a staged hunt. I'd sure like to see the other side of Mr. Gentry's story before passing final judgment.
Newarcher
Here's the case information regarding the guilty plea. I would have never posted it if I had any doubt as to the facts (sometimes the anti-hunting people skew things one way). It is true unfortunately: http://new.music.yahoo.com/montgomery-gentry/news/troy-gentry-pleads-guilty-to-bear-charge--35244681 At first, Troy tried passing it off as the outfitter having duped him into shooting the tame bear but that wasn't the case, this was a shared effort. Troy bought the bear and knowingly shot the bear inside a fenced enclosure. The two agreed to say that the bear was shot elsewhere instead of inside the enclosure. The other man's role was even more disgusting. New Edited October 27, 2010 by Newarcher
redkneck
Well there's idiots with no moral standards from every walk of life. I guess this is pretty old news, but I really don't keep up with what's going on in the entertainment world I guess. What a scumbag.
stcif
I watched it. Words can't describe how I felt. I remember when the story broke. It was sickening. Now to actually see it. Even if it never came out that it was a tame bear, after the shot it would have obvious to any hunter who had ever witnessed a wild bear react to an arrow impact that this bear was not wild. I attribute things done like this to people with absolute out of control egos. They are also people that simply are not willing to do what it takes to take an animal legally. They are not willing to put in the time to practice, scout, drive, sleep in tents, whatever... Troy, I hope someday you read these posts. You are a joke and you lost alot of fans and hopefully money. If I was the judge, you would have lost your liberty too.

Hoosierbuck
It's one thing to do a despicable act, it's another to tape it, and a third to act like you are hunting the whole while. What a fraud. How can this guy have any credibility in anything? It's a shame, kinda liked their music, too. I won't be able to listen to it now without thinking of this. The video makes it stick so much more than reading the reports at the time, and that is all of his own doing. Thumbs way down, DO NOT LIKE, etc, etc, etc. HB

Adjam5
All I can say is WOW...I thought more than that of Gentry. Guess I was wrong. Add him to the list of celebs who broke conservation and ethical laws.
