maddhunter
Does anyone know of a link or websight that list pics of the different subspecies of turkeys? I thought I had killed a Rio, but I look on our wildlife website and the WMA I hunted in lists Easterns in it in good numbers. So is this turkey an Eastern or a Rio? WaCoyote
Re: How To Tell The Difference? Easterns have the darkest tips on the tail feathers and I think they are the largest. Rios have the tannish colored tips. Merriams have a lot of white. Look at mine in the "post last years bird" thread. It's a merriams. Don't have a clue about oscillotbotabolibadooda in florida. maddhunter
Re: How To Tell The Difference? Thanks guys! I found some pics on the NWTF site. Mine is for sure a Rio, but I have seen some Easterns where I hunt also.
