ruttinbuc
Well I have buck tag soup for the first season, but have no regrets about it. I many be kicking myself a little bit passing the big 6 point. Overall, the property was a challenge. Just didn't find the right seat for the big bucks that were there.. I do have to say that all of the places I did sit I could have shot deer. Tonight after sitting all afternoon in a 20/30 mph wind. I had what I thought was a huge doe come out of the corner where I just placed a stand (dog stand). With the wind knocking me around in the tree I failed to see the two little y's between the ears. As the deer got past I put up my binoculars to see that it was a buck indeed. A big bodied mature buck. He was either on the big downswing or just never had genetics to start. I grunted at him and he immediately turned around and came walking back. He was looking hard for the other buck and was broadside at 20 yards first looking left and then looking right. I thought about pulling the string just to see how much he weighed, lol. It looked like he shook his head at not seeing any deer and slowly turned in the direction he was heading. The light was leaving fast and all I could do was smile....No regrets Edited October 30, 2010 by ruttinbuc
