well, not yet, exactly. thursday of this week a catch a dream kid will be coming in to hunt elk with me. i do this about yearly. anyway, they arrive on thursday and we'll site in my 270 with him. then, friday morning we head out to a private 44,000 acre ranch which has a few nice elk on it. maybe more than a few. jeff and arty were on it this past fall. anyway, with some wild luck we may just get a nice bull.

i'm also thinking of taking you into the field with me, with live updates. what do you think? i'm open for ideas.

With the others here, you are a great person for sure Steve, Thank You for all you have done and do for so many. Looking forward to following along on this hunt. This kid is in for a real treat for sure. With what we saw of the elk, don't think you are gonna need much luck, but all the best for a great hunt. That one we saw the last morning in with you was a monster, wish I would have had a camera with me when I saw that 8x5 up that draw. Still have some video to edit and upload.

I can pretty clearly see what you told us about in the pic Jeff, actually looks more noticeable in the pic that is not zoomed in.

Hope you can guide the C.A.D kid to a big bull! Haven't met you but can tell that you are a top notch guy!

Not gonna give it away Jeff. lol. I do see the addition in this pic above, but do not see what was apparent in the pic of the bull alone, might have to give a zoom in for this one.

+1.

In the top picture, just to the left of the bull you can see a small white area shoulder high. That white is the fletching of an arrow that is sticking out of the bull. In the bottom photo, while it is hard to see, if you look close you can see the blood stain down his side.

We watched this bull for about 5 minutes and he displayed absolutely no signs that he was affected by the arrow. Moved normally, walked normally, etc.

I know you can't tell by the pictures but this is a 6x7 bull that is really nice. I can see why someone flung an arrow at him.

I could see the arrow in the first pics only because I knew to look for it. Can clearly see it in those last pics Jeff. That is a nice bull there for sure, we did see a couple that I think may have been a little bigger. Still amazing how the elk as big as they are can completely disappear in that country.

I still need to get the video we shot from Steve's truck edited and uploaded.

Here is the clip of the bull the first day as we were leaving http://www.realtree.tv/watchvideo.aspx?video=668, not the biggest one we saw, but the only one I got any video of. Unfortunately had some focus issues with the camera from inside the truck sitting in the back seat. Tried brightening up the very end, was getting dim quick, but can see the antlers fairly well.
