92xj
It was a slow evening for the guys. The weather was perfect, for enjoying the outdoors in the fall but not for deer hunting. They saw one fat over weight doe right at last shooting light.
buckee
Nice setup they have there. Great pictures. Thanks Ben
92xj
The guys did see a dozen or so deer out in the fields between noon and 1 when they were making thier way to Clints. Might have to change up a little to see what they can get into the next couple of days. The hunt is young and they have plenty of time to figure them all out. I can not wait for the morning. 92xj
Calm, clear and 33 degrees, the guys are headed out this morning. They are headed to the same stand as yesterday afternoon.
92xj
Tim just had a doe step out in front of him. Hopefully she's hot and the bucks are following her.
92xj
We might be onto something here. After the doe came through; Tim now has a small buck 20 yards in front of him. Hopefully more does show up bringing in the monsters.
92xj
Total deer for the morning so far is 5 does and 1 buck. He's still in the stand so hopefully more show up.
92xj
If you folks were curious, the buck that was in front of Tim this morning was a non shooter 8 point.

92xj
Tim had a nice shooter 9 pt 80 yards away. The wind held the sound from the grunts down so the deer never heard them and responded. Once this guy left, does piled through with a buck on their tails a minute later. Come on big boys!
92xj
On the phone with Tim now....
92xj
Tim is pumped up! Had a great evening on the stand. Saw 4 or so does and 4 bucks. 1 good shooter and the other just a tick small. The bucks are chasing the does and it seems like its about to get hot and heavy. Tim is actually going to hunt the same set in the morning. He normally would not hunt a spot this much, but their set up is perfect. They come into the stand from the back side. No deer has crossed their path yet. They are all coming out from the front and hanging out around 25 yards, well all but the big boy. The deer have no idea they are there. In the morning Tim plans to set out his decoy to try and get the big boys attention. The guys have been getting good pics all over the property of great bucks but its a picture here a picture there and Tim told himself he is not going to chase the pictures this year. If it doesn't work out in the morning, they will try and new set in the "horse shoe" field. The weather is showing a slight cold front coming through tomorrow and Friday so hopefully all the pieces of the puzzle come together. untill the morning........ Good luck buddy! Oh, the guys are sitting down to a huge spread of home cooked food from Clint's mother (I think that's who Tim said was cooking). They are not working, they are on vacation! buckee
Thanks for the update Ben. Sounds like a good time to lay down an estrus scent trail. It does sound like things are heating up, so tomorrow will bring it's own surprises, no doubt. I'm looking forward to tomorrow not too

92xj
Tim's in the tree. Has the decoy out at 23 yards and has already had two does come by. We shall see what happens.
92xj
2 more does walking by. Hopefully the big boys are following them.

92xj
Two bucks just came in cautiously. Both small, an 8 and a 10 pt. Turned to the left and walked off.

92xj
hmmmm....No word in the past couple of hours. Normally this means one of two things with Tim. He is covered up with deer and can't text or he's frustrated about something. I try to not text him much just in case he's covered up. The last thing I want to do is have his phone vibrate while touching some part of the stand and having it echo in the woods. Or have him drawn on a deer, getting ready to release and have his chest vibrate, tickling him, making him laugh, pull the shot, miss the deer and get mad. I would not be able to stop laughing if that did happen though. Hopefully he checks in soon.
