Next stop for live hunt....Kansas! starts now

hmmmm....No word in the past couple of hours. Normally this means one of two things with Tim. He is covered up with deer and can't text or he's frustrated about something. I try to not text him much just in case he's covered up. The last thing I want to do is have his phone vibrate while touching some part of the stand and having it echo in the woods. Or have him drawn on a deer, getting ready to release and have his chest vibrate, tickling him, making him laugh, pull the shot, miss the deer and get mad. I would not be able to stop laughing if that did happen though.

Hopefully he checks in soon.

LMBOROF ..Good thinking Ben :toot:

The 20-30 mph winds have made the hunting and deer movement difficult, but hopefully with what they witnessed last night the cruising is really kicking in. We've been getting pics of a buck pushing the 160 mark at the stand we call Horseshoe Bend where the river bend makes a horseshoe shape and there is a bean field inside it. He has showed up the past few afternoon/evenings, some in daylight and some right after dark. They are going to try putting the decoy out in the field and hitting the horns to bring him out, they should have a perfect wind for the situation. As often as he has been showing up he has to be bedding close. There are a couple other decent bucks showing up there off and on so lets hope it happens!

I have Great news!!!!

Tim has one down on the ground and made a recovery! I will keep details low until I post the pics....The only details are....it's a buck and Tim is pumped. First one in Kansas this year. His phone did die some tonight and its on the charger now. Will let you guys know more about this deer in the morning unless Tim post tonight. He might spill a little more beans then I did. Here's a little secret... its a 12 point, split brows. 130-140 class. He came into the decoy all bristled up, walking sideways with his head cocked. I took the shot at 15 yards, double lung hit with over the shoulder video footage. He whirled and ran to the edge of the bean field about 75 yards and piled up just inside the trees. Ironically, when I text my wife about taking him, she told me that my hunt from last year in Iowa was showing on Deer City USA. And another thing, my last bow kill buck in Kansas was a 12 point with split brows and one month ago today, Clint filmed me taking the buck in Montana. Clint, Rodney and I are all pumped up and doing a little celebrating. Tomorrow we have our work cut out for us with some more filming and pictures. Talk to you soon,

Tim
