AvonLKHunter
I am leaving for my property in Guernsey county tomorrow. My buddy was down there last week and nothing yet. I am loaded with scrapes and rubs up here in Avon Lake. Lots of deer reported being hit on the freeways so I think something is about to start. Any info would be great. Tominator
Heard a chase Saturday night. They were in the thick stuff and I never did see them. Right at quitting time I heard a pretty good "man grunt," and 2 minutes later a deer go sprinting across the field. Not too much in the way of road kill since the 22nd. I'm thinking the D&DH boys are getting it right so far... Next 3 weeks should be pretty awesome if it stays cool.

Hope the weather stays cold til Saturday, will be in tree Wednesday morn. JIM
muggs
I haven't seen any activity, but I've seen a lot of bucks on the side of the road. I don't think the does are there yet though, not from what I've seen anyway.

OHBucks
I was hunting this past weekend and I called in a small 8 point. I hit the "can" a few times waited a couple minutes and then gave out a couple grunts on the "Buck Roar" and 5 minutes later he walked straight across a field and went straight to my stand turned broadside and stopped 10 ft. from my tree and then just walked back into the woods. Like I said he was on the smaller side so I let him walk. But yeah I'd say it's heating up a buddy of mine shot a 10 point out of that same stand Friday night he shot a doe and he came straight in to check her out and he smoked him. I took this upcomming Friday off work so I will be on stand pretty much all weekend.
fenderhunt4
I saw one small buck trailing and pushing a doe around a little bit on Saturday. Things aren't quite exploding yet, but it seems the switch is definitely on now...

OHBucks
Well hopefully with the cold weather forecast for the weekend it will start cranking up pretty good. Like I said I took Friday off work so I will be hunting most of the weekend. I'm hoping to have blood on the 4 wheeler by the end of the weekend. doubledrop
last night was a very fun night. from the time i was in the stand until i left I had deer running all around me. I had 5 different bucks chasing does with their mouths wide open and grunting quite a bit. I think we are ready here in guernsey county. good luck to all. WHISKEYSWAMP
no buck action last night but had a doe come in just before quitting time... she's now in the back of my truck ready to be checked it.
Tominator
Buddy saw a shooter buck out cruising Thursday morning, but we got skunked yesterday. Wednesday evening I heard a little chasing/grunting going on and one buck bellowed like a red stag. Never heard that before. They are getting interested, but I don't think the big boys are up on their feet much.

Tominator
8 hours in the stand yesterday, 3 bucks in the morning (1 probable shooter), 1 buck in the evening, he looked decent too. Zero does. It's sporadic for sure. One farm has nothing, the next farm over they're seeing pigs. Zero road kill in the last week or so. Saw 6 on the way into work today, but they were all does and fawns eating. No sign of chasing or lockdown. Gonna be warm this week, but I can't hunt tonight, Wednesday or Thursday anyway. Keep at it! kuntry_boy
I agree, I hunted daylight till dark Wednesday through Saturday, I don't think the big boys are after it yet. I saw small bucks and does everywhere from Union county to Jackson county but no shooters. I think it might go down this week. I hunted a farm 12 hours last Thursday saw a small 8 pt. the neighbor hunts the property on Saturday and says he saw 2 shooters fighting at the edge of a woodlot. On Friday I have 9 does walk right under me, a small 7 pt comes by 10 minutes later and takes a nap right behind me for an hour.. What do yo do?? You're right about the heat, if you can't hunt all day I would recommend mornings this week..
hunter109
well seen a big buck checking a scrape right at dark 10 mins earlier or more and he would have been mine well it will be picking up here soon no chaseing as of now from the big guys
