Jesse_Whitetail-Reaper
So wednesday I decided to go hunting at the last minute. Well I got in the stand at 4:30 and I guess I under dressed for the weather. So I decided to get out of the stand early at 6 pm . I was walking back when i stopped at a hay bale. Seen something coming out of the corner of my eye... I turned and say a nice size buck. I ducked behind the hay bale and got ready. He came out with his nose to the ground... I got him to stop and I took a 30 yard shot. I shot low but to my surprise he ducked right into a great shot... he did a 180 and ran buy i saw the arrow in him. Arrow was a perfect hit. I looked for blood didn't find any... found my arrow 50 yards on the other side of a creek with blood and pinkish red gunk on the arrow. looked for 2 hours gave up for the night; went out this morning still no sign. Going to get permission this afternoon to look on a neighbors property. I'm just totally sick over this. I shot my first deer with a bow earlier this season and I though i would but a nice buck under my belt. :bummed:
92xj
pinkish red gunk, sounds like lung. That deer is dead and not far from the last place you saw him. Under 150 yards I would say.

buckee
He sounds like a dead deer alright. If you can't find any more blood, go to the last blood sign and start doing a grid search all around that area. Sometimes, just before they expire, they will veer off to the left, right or even back track a bit and then veer off to find a spot to lay down and die. Good luck

Rem308
Yep, keep looking and when you finally get to the point of giving up, look some more. That deer is dead, but they can really hide well sometimes. Good luck.
