armyguy2011
So, last night I arrow my first buck ever. He looked to be a solid 8 with big body. I hunt a 50 acre field of cut corn and uncut winter wheat. So, my hopes of tracking him down were really high. I found no blood, but did find a blood covered arrow. Spent all day tracking only to come up with a 100yd blood trail and no deer. What gives?

Ethan Givan
I found no blood, but did find a blood covered arrow. Spent all day tracking only to come up with a 100yd blood trail and no deer. What gives? If you didnt find any blood, then where did the 100 yard blood trail come from? Im a tad confused. If a blood trails stops, then start a grid search. Wounded deer bed down and often die there as long as you dont push them and jump them up by getting on the trail too soon. If you hit any vitals at all, then the deer should be dead, and probably closer than you think. If you have given the deer plenty of time and the blood stops, then its time to burn some boot leather.
