I saw the first sign of the rut kicking into gear here this morning. A very large buck tagging a doe. He would chase her when she ran, and stop and feed when she stopped and fed. Not hot and heavy, but he knows she is almost ripe for the pickin.

I hope it is the same there this morning guys, and you see those big guys finally showing themselves.

Just got in from my morning goose hunt. Here are their updates of today.

They went to a new spot and had 10 does and 2 smaller 8 pts come in and nothing else. Tonight is the last sit of the hunt and the guys are bummed and frustrated. We all know it happens on the last sit, so I reminded them of that. Hopefully something happens and they will at least get a shot. Good luck men!

Here is a pic from this morning's set up.

Nope, no break... I really do think that Kansas hates Rodney. We hunted hard, just had no control over mother nature. All in all it was a good time and had some good encounters with deer. Rodney is heading back home to Georgia to lick his wounds tomorrow. Our rifle season opens in a couple of weeks so hopefully I can connect on a good buck before then. Thanks to Ben (92xj) for all of his updates and pics he posted and thanks to everyone for following along after Tim left, it's fun to see the comments and have people support us. And congrats again to Tim on a good Kansas buck.
