Got two looks at this guy. Pretty nice and wide, although not real heavy:

And this dude...................... Hard to tell from the side. But this guy's 19"-20" wide. 8's don't get a whole lot nicer than this around these parts:

Great looking deer. I would like to see that bottom deer straight on. Looks like some nice curls at the tips of his main beams.

Good luck to your son Don. Pic is probably pretty deceiving on that second buck, see it all the time with trail cam pics. Couple nice looking bucks there for sure, either one would without a doubt be a shooter here on our farm.
