sparty
My father in law is friends with a family in NC Ok that own a very lg ranch. They have extended an invitation to us to rifle hunt whitetails. Anyone have info on the area N of Woodward?? I am assuming that it is just like Ks hunting so should we hold out for the same caliber of bucks? If I read correctly, we can buy a license over the counter or online. I appreciate your .02. Thanks
scottherrmann
It Rocks! Awesome area with great deer. If it joins places that are managed don't settle for less than a 140 if u have a few days. Way too many does around so kill some of those if u can. The does are huge up that way also. Some places are like KS but I have seen some awesome creek bottoms up there. They are small but can have some good timber. A friend of mine was up there this week and said they were hitting the china berry trees and bur oaks in the draws. Good luck be safe. ckrich
Yeah there are some pretty decent deer over there, so I would wait for mature buck for sure. I was out all weekend about 50 miles east of Woodward, saw lots of does and a few young bucks. No real chasing or heavy rutting yet. Talked to the Federal game warden and he said we should be right on track to have a heavy rut during rifle season, so it sounds like you'll be here at the right time. Yes, you can buy your license online at http://wildlifedepartment.com/, or at Wal-Mart. Good Luck!
