shockwave
So i go out yesterday evening and this little doe comes flying by me, i`m talking a full speed run, 10 seconds later 3 little bucks and a really nice 6 point with at least a 14 inch spread, which i cant shoot follow behind her all 4 are grunting and making a ruckus..Everybody talks about how hard the rut is on bucks, it is just as bad if not worse on the does the way they get hounded before they go into estrus.. TN Bucknasty
I saw 7 bucks swarming one doe last year. I watched them chase her for about 4 hours. I thought to myself, "Girl, you'd better run because you are about to get hurt!" Tominator
I saw 6 or 7 deer this morning, same place I saw them yesterday. All does and fawns, all calmly feeding in picked beans.
wtnhunt
Does only get hounded for a few days, then are pretty well left alone, bucks continue on fighting and running until secondary rut and even later when yearlings come in. I saw 6 or 7 deer this morning, same place I saw them yesterday. All does and fawns, all calmly feeding in picked beans. Saw just one doe all weekend, 6 or 7 different bucks and a button buck. Does seem to be hiding here right now, not quite that time just yet, bucks are definitely cruising though.
ruttinbuc
I saw the big bodied 8 point walking across the same cut corn field I shot my buck in a week ago Sunday. He came out close to dark and was in search mode. Head down and smelling everything. Meanwhile, there were doe and fawns farther on down the road I was on. I imagine it may have been a wild night.
