Jard Triggers

Re: Jard Triggers

I have not played with the JARD trigger for the Rem 700. I have played with their AR15 trigger and it was decent quality. I looked at JARD's web page and I am undecided about their trigger style. For a lightweight benchrest/varmint trigger (under 8 ounces) I would not go with them. I would go with a Jewell, Rifle Basix or Shilen trigger.

For a big game hunting trigger I have used Shilen, Timney, and Rifle Basix. Any of them would be as good of a choice as the JARD. Which ever one you can get the best deal on. I am not sure what the adjustment range is with the JARD. They sell specific springs for different weights.

Re: Jard Triggers

mitrrophybowhunter,

I suggest having your local gunsmith do a trigger job on the factory trigger. There are no drop in triggers that I know of for the BAR.

njbowhntr,

Now you are talking. Be warned, once you use one you will want one for every 700 you own. Arnold Jewell makes the best 700 trigger period.

Re: Jard Triggers

Welcome to the group.

I don't have one on my 70 but I have shot them on varmint guns. They are sweet, but unless you are wanting a trigger that will go under 1 pound, I would get Timney. If you had a custom gun or know for a fact that your Stealth shoots 5 shot groups under 1/2" on average, I would suggest the Jewell, but its kind of wasted on a factory gun when a cheaper trigger will do as good of a job for 1/2 the price.
