Shaun_300
Man you're lucky Joe! Just used the last of my holidays up this past week. Good thing is though I'll be at my work for 5 years next year which means 3 weeks holidays instead of 2. I'll have some extra days to take then! Good luck bud. TBow
I had hoped to get out today (Monday) with my bow now that the gun season is over, but a long time commitment kept me homebound. As long as I don't keep shutting off the alarm clock in the morning, I'm planning on heading out around 5:00 a.m. for my stand. TBow
Muff
Well I just can not wait to get out hunting....my wife has me doing so much house work before my buddys get here....I am sick of the house....time to get out to the field and do some hunting. TBow
I was out today and saw 3 deer, 2 does and 1 small buck. There were a few scrapes put in since the rain on Sunday evening so that was encouraging. The woods is pretty damp with water accumulating everywhere. Lots of trails and tracks semed to be concentrated to a few small areas. Probably won't get out until Thursday or Friday now. TBow

TBow
I was out this afternoon. Jumped a doe walking in and saw a buck out my treestand at about 80 yards. Tried to call him in closer, but no luck. I'll be heading back out this weekend. I'm gon'na try still hunting. I've always had better luck during the rut when I was still hunting over stand hunting. Good luck to all. TBow

TBow
My son and I were out Sunday morning, but no sightings. It was however, mega cold! On my way to take my truck to a local dealership today to get some warranty work done, I saw a large bodied buck heading across 3 open fields at around 8:00 a.m. That spells "rut" in my books. Calling for rain again tomorrow (Tuesday), so likely will hold off until Wednesday to hit the woods.....Ya I know! I'm a woos! Fairweather hunter. TBow
My truck was still in the shop until noon today, so I couldn't make it out this morning. As soon as I got the truck home, I suited up in camo and hit the woods. Jumped a small fork horn at 25 yards walking in to my stand and had a doe at 8 yards, but passed on her waiting for that beheamoth buck (which will likely never show). Calling for snow this weekend, so might be a good chance for some still hunting. TBow
TBow
Was out this morning with my brother-in-law. I had one deer at 50 yards from my stand. It came in downwind of me and snorted a couple times them bounded out. All I saw was a tail. My brother-in-law had one deer 75 yards or so crunching leaves, but was a no-show. When I walked to his stand to get him at 10:00 a.m., I jumped 2 deer and pushed them past him. One was a buck and came within 20 yards, but no shots presented themselves. TBow
My son, brother-in-law and I made it out yesterday morning (Sunday). My son and brother-in-law didn'r see anything, but I had 5 deer within 50 yards of me for almost 3/4 of an hour. One doe picked up on my presence (I was hunting on the ground) and stared, stomped and snorted at me 50 or 60 times until she finally circled downwind of me at 25 yards and bounded off. The other 4 deer just stayed put for another 15 minutes before realizing that I was there and then there was white flags everywhere. Didn't see any horns though. Didn't make it out today at the bride was off work and she wanted to go to Ottawa to do some shopping. OHHHHHH the sacrifices I make! TBow
I was out at a friend's camp last night for a chicken wing fry and a night's socialization. I slept overnight and went out with them with my muzzleloader this morning. Just red squirrels and bluejays for me, but one friend had a 7 pointer at 150 yards, but was unsure of his muzzleloader at that distance so he passed on the shot. Probably won't be able to get out with the smoke pole this weekend as I have to do the "shopping thing" with the bride tomorrow and have to go and cut our xmas trees with my kids on Sunday. Bow season opens back up again on Monday so I'll be back out with the Matthews, but I fear that the rut has subsided. Oh well! C'est la vie! I'll get the rattlin' horns back out then. Post rut is good for that they tell me. TBow
TBow
My brother-in-law and I headed out on the 22nd to put out some corn near our stands. There were a ton of tracks around. Then we went out the afternoon of the 23rd and spent a couple hours on stand. I had 10 deer all around me the last half hour, but were all does and fawns, so I passed on all available shots. Still hoping for a buck. My brother-in-law saw nothing, but we hope to make it our tomorrow morning if all goes well. This is the first time I've ever put corn out, and next year the rumor is that no baiting will be allowed in Ontario. I believe it has to do with CWD. I think you'd get as good a response from the deer if you knocked down a few small cedars and laid them near your stand. Funny how their diets change with the seasons.
