ihunt365
I shot a woodcock while hunting this afternoon with my friend. I am planning on getting it mounted. Should i freeze it while i wait to take it to the taxidermist? How should i wrap it? Would it be better to not freeze it?
92xj
tuck head under wing or around over its back WITHOUT pulling tight at all on the neck. If it doesnt reach, just pull it to the side as much as you can. Put in gallon ziplock and suck what air out you can then close it and freeze it. Do NOT wrap it in paper or anything, just use the bag. The bird will last for 1.5-2 years like this in the freezer until you can get it to the taxidermist. fly
xj's advice is what my taxi told me on my 09 turkey. (I used a trash bag due to the size).
