Maryland youth hunt for whitetails

Today was the day for the younger hunters to go after deer in Maryland, I took out a young friend who is 12, I took him to hunters safety class earlier this year and he passed a got a free license for this year. He has an older brother who is 16 that wanted to go out as well, since he is 16 this was the last youth hunt he could go on. He went out with my friend who is frequent poster on this site(Bearclaw) their team connected with a nice fat 4pt this morning. Later in the morning my young friend got a shot at a nice 8pt, unfortunately he got a little buck fever and missed the shot. We went out in the evening but didn't see any more deer, he said he had fun and asked if he could go out with me during the regular firearms season, I think we can add him to the hunting ranks because he seems to really like hunting and being out in the woods. I told him he could go with me whenever he wanted during rifle and muzzleloader season. I'm glad to see that he has an interest in something other than video games and the internet. It was a great day in the woods in western maryland!
