How us Oklahoma boys do it!

I'm starting to believe November 14th is my lucky day. I met my wife on November 14, was in the hospital waiting on my son November 14th, and then there was this November 14th.

Sunday evening we hit the tree late after moving stands all day and repairing feeders the cows we weren't supposed to have destroyed at the lease. Evening was slow til about 5:15............A doe came out at 30 yards and I had promised my sister I would put one in her freezer. Figured now was as good a time as any. Let is fly and sat down thinking I missed her while I reloaded an arrow. Saw her run and stop 60 yards away.............Crash. About a minute after the crash I hear something else moving. By now I'm thinking I made a bad shot. Here it comes walking.............Steps in the open and there's a shooter buck at 40 yards. Couldn't get a shot so I grunted at him a few times only to watch him walk off. Grabbed my phone and texted my wife he was headed her way to get ready. When I hit send I looked left and he was coming fast. He walked behind a tree right in front of me as I stood and drew as fast as I could. He walked out at 8 yards and I watched the short flight of the arrow disappear behind the shoulder..........Judo Chop:chair:. He trotted about 40 yards, death wobbled, and fell over dead. That might have been the most exciting 5 minutes of hunting in my life. My biggest bow buck to date and a nice fat doe to fill my sister's freezer.

8 point 155 lbs and the doe weighed 105.
