MadHuntinPastor
Any of you guys use these lighted nocks or have some info about them. I had a guy swear by them. I want to hear what your thoughts are. Can you use them more than once? Or does it just stay illuminated after shooting? Where have you seen them available? Anyone have problems with them? AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Illuminock? All I know is Cabela's sells them for $9.00 per nock. I can live with my old standard not lighted nock. I have seen them on hunting shows and they are sweet though. I think it can stay lighted until you switch it off. Not real familiar but I would think it would have a switch on it. Good luck if you get some of them. Lou
magnatecsteve
Re: Illuminock? I have three on some older aluminum arrows, and they still work every time!! They come on when the bow is shot, or you drop it...To turn it off, you have to drop it onto something hard on its point. They work really well, but they do make a little noise though, at least the older ones. They might have changed them by now. I use mine for 3-D Coon Shoots!!(3-D shoot at night at coon targets)
VtBowhunter
Re: Illuminock? Magnatecsteve, I'ld have a ball shooting with you in a coon shoot........man that would be a very easy spot to aim at, lol.
IowaDeerHunter
Re: Illuminock? I haven't used them but seen them advertised on the Wild Outdoors television program. To tell you the truth I don't think they are a bad idea at all. Especially since I miss the target and the arow digs into the grass and they are gone until the mower from the golf course runs them over and they are ruined. Plus they would be great if you shoot a deer at night.

Guest deadeye270
Re: Illuminock? I've got some and the actual weight is about 29gr. This does affect your FOC but..... they are COOL to watch sailing toward a deer or target during the last hour of the day. I went to a very heavy tip to help with the FOC as well as I do not add an arrow wrap onto my arrows with lumenoks. This helps offset the difference between my regular nocks and lumenoks. snapper
Re: Illuminock? [ QUOTE ] Plus they would be great if you shoot a deer at night. [/ QUOTE ] I hope you meant "shooting a deer in low light" and not at night. I think my only prob. with these nocks are...I think a new archer or less experienced one would get a bad habit of dropping their arm to watch the arrow flight. This can be hard to break once its part of someones form. Other than that...I think they are a neat idea, just can't seem to spend the extra $ for them. Guest 3006
Re: Illuminock? I USED MY ILLUMINOCK THIS YEAR ON A DOE THAT I SHOT IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS. IT WAS REALLY COOL TO SEE THAT NOCK DISAPEAR BEHIND HER SHOULDER. THEY DEFINATELY CAN BE USED MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY DON'T EFFECT THE ARROW FLIGHT AT ALL. NEXT YEAR I PLAN ON SHOOTING A DEER ON VIDEO WITH THAT NOCK! YOU CAN BUY THEM AT A GANDER MTN. STORE FOR ABOUT $10.
RyanH
Re: Illuminock? Make them your self! Get the old Gold tip nocks! Take the set screw out! Go to wal Mart and get the really small lights that go in a bobber! Get a small drill bit and drill it out! Slide the glo light in there! When the string fires it breaks the lil light which makes it glow! I have mad tons of them!

Guest Dawg93
Re: Illuminock? I did use them this past season. 1st on my buck......I never did find the dang arrow. Got the deer though. So I'm out a $5 arrow, $10 broadhead, and $5 lumenok. Gets expensive. (Lost the arrow in the honeysuckle) 2nd....on the doe I shot.....it helped me at dusk for sure. I only notice a flight difference at distances out to 30 yds or a bit less. Not that much at 20 yds. I may try the "boober" mechanism next year. Leo
Re: Illuminock? Just got one yesterday. Tried it out on the target in the back. No significant accuracy difference noted. Just another thing to have in your trick bag IMHO. In broad daylight there is no tracer effect and you won't see the light come on anyhow. Early morning and late afternoon these things will be worth it. Several times I wished I had had something just like this.
VTbowman
Re: Illuminock? I was on that craze last year and bought 3 of the Lumenocks. I tried them in 2 seperate dozen of Gold Tips XT Hunter 5575s. One dozen previously used lock-nocks and one had the newer nocks. The Lumenocks sucked for me. They did not fit in the arrow shafts as tight as they should of and therefore did not remain lit during 1/2 the shots. Most shots that did stay lit had the nocks bounce out and turned off once they hit the target. A few literally flew right off the shaft and into the grass. I did not like the design of needing to have the entire nock pulled out a hair (1/128") thus having the string re-seat it to turn it on. I liked the design of the Tracer brand where the nock passes a magnet and then stays on until you pass it by the magnet again. Though the Tracers were a lot heavier. Both seem to be very bright when on even during day light. Good Luck!
AJ
Re: Illuminock? I love them. I keep a couple in my quiver for early morning shots and last light shots. Even if they are not used for hunting, it is a great tool to show arrow flight. It will quickly show if your arrow is flying true or kicking. Guest Dawg93
Re: Illuminock? AJ, pretty much what I did also. Early morning and dusk was the time to have it ready. Shot distance would be limited by the amount of light anyhow.
