Squirrelhunter91
I am going to be buying a Mossberg 500 Youth Bantam this Wednesday and while I'm at Gander Mountain, I am gonna get a turkey choke for the gun. Which choke should I get? Price range is from $10.00 - $20.00. I am looking for something aftermarket and ported. Joe
HeviShot
Re: Best choke for 20 ga? I'd try a H.S strut or a Tru Glo. You can get either for around that price.I think the TruGlo is also ported. My hunting partner uses one in his 835 and the pattern is great.Don't try one to far with a 20ga. borch
Re: Best choke for 20 ga? Well this choke isn't ported but my daughter's had excellent results with it in her 20 gauge as have many other members here. A hastings turkey choke. They run about $30. The ports really don't do much in shotguns on turkey loads. May help with muzzle jump but really don't tame down the recoil noticeably. Good Luck! maddhunter
Re: Best choke for 20 ga? The ported chokes don't tame any recoil but do help in pellet/wad seperation, which improves pattern density. I am getting a Tru Glo choke for my brothers Rem. 20ga. for my son to use this year, getting it this weekend , I'll let you know how it does.
