mike13candace
Arrowed this 6-1/2 year old 177 Lb. 6-point on Friday morning. Past is prime. 21-1/4 inside tips, 23" outside. 7:30 am he walked within 20 yards broadside. Didn't see many deer this year. This sure makes up for it. hoosierhunter
Killing a buck that old is a true feat! I bet only 1% of hunters can say they have ever killed a deer that was 6.5 years old! Great trophy!

jbeck
How did you know he was 6 1/2 yrs. Old? Nice buck though
mike13candace
Three different sources gave me 6-1/2 minimum. Too be exact you need to pull teeth and microscope. Look at the squinting eyes, the amount of white around the eyes, length of nose and the color.

jbeck
yep we send our bottom jaws to State College penns. and they pull the teeth and age them for us. we have quite a few in Montana that have aged over 7 1/2 yrs. the on I took was aged at 8 1/2 yrs old, heck pap shot a 125" buck that was aged at 9 1/2 yrs. mike13candace
Thanks everyone. I have been so patient. I passed on a nice 8 point maybe 3-1/2 year the first Saturday of archery. You can see him in the photography forum. Waiting for a 4-1/2 or older has been my dream. This state is so tough. Everyone takes down whatever walks by.
