JimT
A toss up between Peart and Aldridge. I have never seen either in concert. Best I have seen in person is a toss up really. Tommy Lee,Alex Van Halen, Mick Brown etc. are all good.

LOL thats funny..you know Steve just might have been..he's as old as dirt!....j/k hey, now.... i resemble that last remark. i was in the nosebleed background section about 1961, in chicago. fact is, i just can't remember. it has something to do with your statement.... lol
jcot2773
fastest: joey jordison Most technical: Travis Barker The best: neil pert hands down. just depends on what aspect you are looking at in drummers.
Strut10
i answered the question. gene krupa. Not in your age bracket, Steve-O, so I never saw either live. But I gotta say Buddy Rich over Gene Krupa if that's the generation we're discussing. Check this out if you've not seen it. Good stuff...................and all in a suit and tie without long hair, earrings or tatoos!!!

Jeramie
I was side stage at the Omni in Atlanta and saw Rush there. While Geddy Lee and the other guy went back stage and sat on the stairs during a break (smoking something, I'm just sayin) Neil Pert did what had to be a 20 minute or longer drum solo that was just amazing. New He is highly regarded as one of the best drummers to ever live. He is to drums what Steve Satriani is to shred guitar.
