Re: EARS vs ESP

The amount of shooting that goes on while hunting is usually minimal unless you are sitting on a good dog town out west, standing in a dove field, or are in a waterfowl blind. During those occasions, I always wear hearing protection.

Re: EARS vs ESP

Sitting in a boat with 2 other guys with a 3 guns going is more then enough for me. Sitting in layout blinds goose hunting with up to 5 layout blinds can get obnoxious as well. Waterfowling is the biggest reason. I think they will come in handy on the deer stand as well for hearing game but giving me protection from my muzzle brake.

Re: EARS vs ESP

I wear Remington R2000 eletronic earmuffs.....

I have been for years...I lost alot of my high pitch hearing due to a shooting accident (ie: being stupid)years ago.

Folks look at me kind of wierd sometimes sitting in a treestand wearing muffs.....they start off by "yelling" at me....when they realize I can hear them perfectly with them on they have this look like "oh..."

I wear them all the time no matter what the # of shots I may take. They amplify "all" sounds I haven't been able to hear for years....then muffle anything over 80 dcbl's.... a gunshot sounds like a "poof" with them on; voices are amplified so I can hear range commands.

$99.00 at my local Wal-Mart....

I have just ordered this set for my wife......
