hoosierhunter
Well I knew this was going to happen because he was showing up consisently during the morning right next to the neighbors property and he got him this morning. I think he was 3.5 and would have been a real nice one next year. I bet I have 20+ daylight photos from different days on this guy. As I said it was just a matter of time........ aldridgem1
yea from that picture you can tell he still had plenty of growing left to do. Shame he couldnt make it another year.
wtnhunt
Nice deer. Granted the neighbor was legally hunting his own land, I would have to say congratulations to him. Sure the deer would have been nicer next year, but taking a 3.5 year old deer in some places is quite an accomplishment, that buck would be a wallhanger for a lot of hunters. hoosierhunter
Oh for sure I can't blame the neighbor for taking him. It's his largest buck and he is over 50 years old! He's a very nice guy, it's just tough because he was so close to making it through and that neighbor being done hunting. Oh yeah I think I forgot to mention that it took 10 shots of which 2 hit to bring him down...........
kyswitchback
Nice buck for sure.
layin on the smackdown
Good buck for sure...As a matter of fact, by the looks of his wide sagging belly, slight swag to his back, fairly deep chest, and long face.....and antlers that appear to be wider than his ears (though a little on the spindley side) i would guess he's a 4 1/2 year old buck with less than superior genetics....Congrats to the neighbor!!! Buck down with excellent herd management...
hoosierhunter
He very well could be 4.5, but he dressed at 152 lbs and i have a ton of pics of this guy. He was great buddies with another buck that got killed that I pegged at 2.5 that dressed at 141lbs and was a main frame 10 that will go right around 125-130 inch mark.
