Tominator
Cool. To me though, looks like a different deer.
msman825
I dont think thats the same deer man, missing brow tine on the first one, and the second deer even looks more mature and better mass
Strut10
Cool. To me though, looks like a different deer. Nope. Same deer. I am sure of it. Both pics were taken from the same location. Good left antler. Cobbed up right. Both rights turn up drastically at the end (these 2 pics don't even do justice as to how "up" the right side goes. It's him.
mikewink
Nope. Same deer. I am sure of it. Both pics were taken from the same location. Good left antler. Cobbed up right. Both rights turn up drastically at the end (these 2 pics don't even do justice as to how "up" the right side goes. It's him. I would agree that it is the same deer looking at the rack. Unless the second one is his dad....interesting rack. Bet he will be a hoss next year.
HUNTINGMAN
May be the same deer but I don't think so. The g2 on his right side looks to be broken off.
Tominator
May be the same deer but I don't think so. The g2 on his right side looks to be broken off. That's what I was seeing too. Just looks like a hoss 8pt that's broken off on the right.
okiedog
If it is the same deer, he did put on some mass and length on his next set. If not, its the same genes. 2nd pic could be the breeder buck for the 1st.
wtnhunt
Dunno Don, it does kinda look like that second deer was a solid buck that has tines broke off from fighting. Even the tip on his right side g-3 looks rounded. His left side sure does look good though and he grew a brow tine from last year to this year, if he makes it another year he may be one heck of a nice deer as he made a lot of improvement from last year. Strut10
May be the same deer but I don't think so. The g2 on his right side looks to be broken off. Nope. Not broken. I see what you are seeing. That whitish area on the right main beam where a G2 should be is too flush with the beam and rolled too far over the back of the beam to be the base of a broken point. There's no way to break a tine that size off that cleanly...............even if there was a deer around big enough to do it (if there is, I've not gotten his pic). Also, what appears to be the stump of a broken G3.......I'm not sure. Could be. But it looks like something on the ground behind him when I enlarge the pic. The real deal sealer for me is the angle the right beam goes up at. It doesn't come around like normally the left beam does. Just like last year. hoosierhunter
Well I see both sides here. That distinct turn up at least means it it isn't the same deer it's definitely related to him for sure.
Prairiepredator
Thats a pretty cool looking buck!
smokinya
May be the same deer but I don't think so. The g2 on his right side looks to be broken off. X2
snapper
I see both sides of this too...but I'd tend to lean towards it being the same buck also. He def. put on alot of horn in one year...but whats the odds of getting a pic. of a 2 1/2 year old deer at the end of a season and getting a pic. of his "daddy" in the same location a year later? I def. agree they have the same genes "if" they are different bucks...but I'm thinking its the same buck.

Don't think it's too much of a stretch to go from what he had last year to what he grew this year. I got my eyes opened this fall on what a deer can grow from one year to the next. Gonna post a couple pics up. Check them out.
