92xj
With all the ice and snow we are having and have, we had to get out and find a new spot. After two miles of walking with decoys on our back, we found this little spot. The fog was crazy but the birds worked nicely. I didnt take pics of all our kills but the bonus of the day was this woody! I have killed thousands of wood ducks in my lifetime in South Carolina but have yet to see any out here in Washington. This one decoyed in at 9:45 this morning and I tagged him with a single shot. He is now in the freezer and will be going to the taxidermist next week. Out of all the ones I have killed I have never mounted one, so being a west coast woody, this one is getting stuffed. They are HUGE out here. This thing is twice as big as our's back home. He is about the size of a resident Mallard. Also, the other pics are of our spread and the last is my mallard kills minus 6 that I got after the pic was taken. So far, it's been a good year. 92xj
Nice pics....them wild ducks are mmmm mmm good! So what do you do with the drake tails? Right now, they are chillin' in a bowl in the middle of all mall cheap calls. I will eventually line a picture frame with them once I get more and find time to drill a ton of small holes in a picture frame to stick them in.
