Hunt or be Hunted
It's on the National Geographic Channel. Watched it for the first time last night. I thought it was a very cool show. Can't wait till it's on again! http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/wild-justice/all/Overview?sicontent=0&sicreative=5770667572&siclientid=804&sitrackingid=209557844&source=banner_semgngc_161
stevebeilgard
national geo. lost any and all credibility with the "endangered prairie dog" spread they did about 10 years ago. there are 10's of millions of praired dogs, and they just want to stop hunting. enjoy the show. i won't watch. ruttinbuc
I watched some of it and it appears that they are putting hunters in a bad light. They need to separate the good hunter from the dirtballs. It does not show that.

stevebeilgard
poaching is a severe crime, prevelant throughout the world. that gall bladder will bring $500. or more on the oriental market. sure, it's illegal. but so is pot. the crumbs of the world will always poach & sell. it's up to all of us to stop it, not just the game wardens. gzilla45
I watched the show last night for the first time. The premise behind it is good but being a Nat Geo show it casts hunters in a bad light to me. When they visited that camp to check for illegal deer all they could talk about was how many guns they found. They said nothing really about how the guys didn't do anything illegal until the very last second. They also lost me when they started using terms such as "fawn killer." I believe the word they should have used was poacher. To me its just another shot at putting hunting in a negative light. In my mind there is a huge difference between a hunter and a poacher and this show really doesn't distinguish between the two enough. It definitely shows how hard the game enforcement officers have to work though.
okiedog
When they visited that camp to check for illegal deer all they could talk about was how many guns they found. Yeah... I laughed out loud on that comment. For crying out loud, its a deer camp! If they thought that was alot of guns that don't want to come to my camp. I always take mulitple guns with me. Things happen, and if I bump my scope good I don't want to wonder if its still on. I get another gun out of the truck.
Missilelock
everyshow I watched the game wardens infringed on citizens rights like crazy.......There are such things as search warrants, & you dont need to handcuff everyone you check. they need to realize its still innocent till proven guilty, & the cuffs dont come out till charges are made. Just another staged show like axemen on history channel.
The_Kat
everyshow I watched the game wardens infringed on citizens rights like crazy.......There are such things as search warrants, & you dont need to handcuff everyone you check. they need to realize its still innocent till proven guilty, & the cuffs dont come out till charges are made. obviously you've never dealt with law enforcement much. An LEO can detain you in handcuffs without placing you under arrest. Every episode I watched that contained a search included a search warrant, or probable cause for search and seizure. It's a good show, and I can assure you it is not staged. Also game wardens have more jurisdiction in most states than any other branch in LE. I did crack up at the crossbow comment about the poacher using crossbows on the golf course. "Crossbows are easier to use than bows" hahaha
Missilelock
"obviously youve never dealt with law enforcement much" .... to me thats a good thing!!! still think the shows a farce. I have heard wardens around here bragging about how they have more power than the State police, etc....while that may be true. I think not all, but a good many are out there on a power trip & the ones on that show are no better...JMO
The_Kat
They are correct in their statements.... As for powertrips...there are jerks in all fields of work. However I think alot of people claim to respect LEO's until the LEO makes a contact with them....then the contacted citizen has a problem with the LEO doing their jobs. They're on "powertrips" unless they're dealing with someone who isn't me. Then if they're not dealing with me, they're being lazy and not doing their jobs..... haha, I've heard it all and I'm no longer LE....I just like to stick up for them still. Nature lover
show sucks I’ve come to the conclusion the show is a joke. It’s as entertaining as a reality show on parking violations. It makes the wardens look incompetent and is a slap in the face to every CA tax payer who is funding these bumbling $10,000.00 investigations for the results of a $70.00 citation. Sadly, it also leads the uninformed public into believing all hunters and fisherman are guilty and no good comes from either activity. I have heard from a credible source the show is financed indirectly by the humane society/ Peta. The ultimate goal is to stop hunting and fishing in CA. All Financial efforts are being spent there by the animal rights extremists. Who have built a war chest that dwarfs all the pro hunting organizations combined.. The thought is if CA falls the rest of the country will follow.
ruttinbuc
I saw the same things on this show. I would hope your credible source has evidence to back up his claims of animal rights group financing. If he does I would think it would be in the best interest of the millions who participate in hunting and fishing to come out with it.
