Tominator
Lots of pessimism there, and some of it summarily puts all teachers in a bad light. Simply not true in a lot of cases.
wtnhunt
Man I love living in small town USA where what Christmas is about has not been removed by liberals.
arrow32
True in ways true in ways. Well all I got to say is if where I work puts anything up that says Happy Holidays I'll be calling my buddy the District Manager and having a chat with him. Think this was just a generalized cut and paste Chris and unfortunately probably does sum up things in many or even most places. It is a sad state of affairs when teachers have to be concerned about mentioning anything about religion and the potential for lawsuits or losing their jobs. That said I will say that a good number of teachers around here in these small school systems still give kids no homework assignments on Wednesdays for the sole reason that so many people go to Wednesday services. Would imagine despite the direction that liberals are trying to take things that there are probably a lot of similar situations with schools all across the country. RTPROFamily
Steve, that was a great post! I sent this post to a friend this morning and he told me at a small school about 60 miles from us if a kid wishes another kid Merry Christmas they will be suspended from school for 3 days.! Unbelievable! There isn't any free speech anymore. If you study history of the American settlers they developed the public school system for kids to learn to read and understand the BIBLE. Look how far away we are from that. Our money with In God WE Trust will be next!
Shaun_300
Great post Steve. Sure is sad how people think about Christmas these days. I was at the parade on Saturday and I kept hearing "Happy Holidays!" shouting from the floats. Sickening! Lucky I did hear a chant or two saying Merry Christmas. I would disagree with that. I completely understand that Christmas is over-marketed for a lot of the wrong reasons, but I guess I like to focus on the positive effects of Christmas--and there's a lot of them. Adjam5
Excellent post Steve...Soo much is going the way of PC now a days. The watering down of societies values and morals is a constant thing so we must be vigilant and keep OUR faith in God.

You are disagreeing that there are many places in this country where teachers are not allowed to talk about Christ or religion? I cannot speak for elsewhere, but I know around here the bigger cities they are with the liberal pc type crap that this post is about. No prayer at football games allowed, no moment of silence for kids to say a prayer, and etc.... I do agree with focussing on the positive effects of Christmas though, and yes there are a lot of them. You are disagreeing that there are many places in this country where teachers are not allowed to talk about Christ or religion? I disagree with the "many or even most," and that if those situations do arise that it would get to the point of a lawsuit or termination. Although, I'm sure the media would have you believe it happens all the time because they tend to focus on the extreme/negative of what's wrong with America instead of the opposite. But, I'll stop hijacking the thread and reiterate that I fully realize the intent of the post, but it's a pessimistic view IMHO. :surrender: :nurse:
