Well, there is nothing to tell except that I saw all of 3 deer in two days in the woods. Was cold and almost perfect yesterday. Saw one doe at dark. Started off nice this morning before the rain. Rain came and had two juniors heading to the cedars just after it started.

I come home and a buck runs into a car right behind my place. I went looking and couldn't come up with the body, but he sure did a number on the little Neon's left front quarter panel. Those big bucks are tough. I hope he makes it. Should have hunted out of my dining room looking out the window. Sure would have stayed warm and dry.

Oh well, six day firearm on Monday

Sounds about like my luck. lol. Good luck with the firearm season Mike.

We go back to archery here after this coming weekend, fall turkey opens up too from Dec 6th to the 17th(I think), we will have to see if those birds that been hanging around are still around, saw a really nice Tom in a flock of about 35-40 birds Sunday morning on my walk back.

Thanks William, I think ML returns after the 6 day. Doe shotgun for three days now. Permit bow runs to the end of the year except Christmas. After the New Year it is a free for all again. Big reason for the long deer less sits in my stand up there. Maybe with more people in the woods I'll have some action.

A little confused with the sounds like your luck reply. I thought I just saw you holding up a huge ML buck.....:D

Speaking of turkeys I did see four long beards on a ride this morning. The pouring rain didn't seem to bother them a bit.

Suppose I shoulda said how my luck usually goes Mike. lol.:D Up and down feast or famine. lol. Yep, I will be the first to admit I got lucky to make it out and be in the right place at the right time with that buck with the ml'er and probably a bit of luck to get a shot on him with him sneaking in behind me like he did. That hunt almost did not happen and it was rather short. Just goes to show, take every opportunity you get. Funny how it goes, sit in the stand for 4-5 hours and see nothing one day, then the next covered up in does and fawns and little skipper bucks. I will say I have seen a good number of bucks here at home this year, back close to what I am used to and nothing like last year where I saw only 3 or 4 bucks all season long. Now if I could just get one of the girls in the right place at the right time, don't know if the 8 I passed up with the rifle is still around or not. Catrina did whack a nice female yote(her first ever coyote) over the weekend, but deer sightings for her were just not happening, Christina had a half dozen does leave the area where I was sitting Sunday morning headed right to her along the river edge staying in the woods, but for some reason they never made it to her. Pretty sure there was a buck just on the other side of the river, not sure what he was though.

Turkeys sure don't mind the rain, had some below me during a light rain over the Thanksgiving holidays.
