ruttinbuc
I got these doe who came out at dusk. Their being so still helped the image. Notice the deer in the background moving out of the thicket with the blurry head.
woolybear
Nice Mike, was this from your stand? I've been itchin' to get back out with the camera again but lately it's been rain or snow with no in between. Nice to see you still seeing some daytime activity. ruttinbuc
Thanks Matt, this was from a little trip just out of town after the big rain storm yesterday. This is pretty much a refuge area that doesn't get hunted. I see deer in there all the time. I figured they would be on their feet after being holed up for a couple of days. I don't know who owns the property. I should go down to the township tax office and see. I know the next farm ground down is in a deer depredation program. These deer may be refugees from there. I got some video of a young buck running some other doe in the field. It needs to be worked to get some light into it. This photo was adjusted for color. A little noisy, but not too bad. I'll post the video here if I can get a decent result.
ruttinbuc
Making this video I realize the deer with the blurry head is the young buck I mentioned pushing the does. I also see there is a mature doe putting her scent into a licking branch in the background. My bet is there is a good buck waiting for it to get just a bit darker to check that spot. As it was the camera had a hard time holding focus as you can see in the clip. My software program enables me to adjust the light. It is actually much darker than it looks. wtnhunt
Thought I saw a blurred fork on that close side of the deer on the edge there Mike. Have not taken the camera out with me lately but probably should. Last video I shot was back during the archery season, did take the camera during the youth hunt back at the end of October, too bad we did not see anything. Shaun_300
Nice pic Mike. If you didn't say to look for the deer in the background I don't think I would have saw it.

ruttinbuc
Thanks everyone! Nice pic! That one doe has a double throat patch! I was waiting for someone to notice that. It really shows up as she is biting her back in the video. There are others with hardly a throat patch at all. Good eye, TG! :1eye: Nice pics. Now if one of those doe walked out in front of me they would be hitting the dirt. They would have to take one heck of a long walk to get to West Virginia, eh Cody?
