Full_Drawn
im looking at getting a new climber this spring and was leaning on either the summit or the lone wolf sit and climb, my question is has anyone used either climber? And which one seems to be the nicest? I hate buying new stands without some referrals lol...
need2hunt
I have not used the Lone Wolf so I can not give you any comments on that. As for the summit I have used their Viper climber for a lot of years and I think you will be hard pressed to find a better, more comfortable climber. wtnhunt
Cannot give any feedback on the lone wolf either, been very happy with my summit.
dbHunterNY
I've got the only one I've ever used. It's a summit open shot. I use it mainly for bowhunting. it works very well so I've sure the Summit you're looking at will too. If you bowhunt I'd try to get a climber that has no front rail or a removable front rail. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have only used summit climbers. From what I have heard though, the lone wolf are lighter and easy to pack in/out, but the summits are more comfortable. I have used a Summit Goliath for a while now and have enjoyed it since day one. I'm not a fan of heights but in m summit I feel safe enough to go up higher than I would in a hang-on or even ladder stand

DropTine49
I hunt with the Summit Viper SS, It's a very comfortable 20 pound stand. The Viper Classic is very similar in size but it weighs 27 pounds and is almost $100 cheaper. If you don't have a very long haul to where you want to climb the Viper Classic is $169.99 and is a very good stand.
hoosierhunter
I've hunted with Summits and just bought a new viper and I was between that and the LW, but I bought mine for 150 bucks new from Dicks, which is a great deal cheaper than the 275 they wanted for the LW although that was a smokin deal as well! fly
You need two. Summit open shot: 14 lbs and great for long walk ins, but not comfortable enough for an all day sit. Summit Viper 21 lbs for the all day sit. If you have a fixed rail you can still bow hunt with it. Just loosen the cable a notch so it angles down a little instead of being level. You don't loose any comfort or safety and it opens the front up for a standing bow shot.
ruttinbuc
I used a LW hand climber for quite awhile now and it can go anywhere I can. The portability, ease of use, weight and quiet is second to none in my opinion. It might not be as comfortable as a Summit, but there are ways to overcome that. The trade off is not worth giving the LW up.

johnf
Summits are great and so are the lone wolfs. I'm not sure the Wolf is worth that much more. Summit is more comfortable, but not quite as light.
bghunter777
Summit Viper! I have spent countless all day hunts in my viper not one complaint! The rail is not in the way when you shoot a bow unless you are at a very steep angle with a large axle to axle length. The rail can also be used as a rifle rest I would want a better rest over prob 200 yards but for most hunting conditions the viper is adequate!
