Shot Placement Question Part 1

BROADSIDE SHOT - YES

QUARTERING TO - Probably not as you are going to get a broadside shot if you just wait...the deer is coming to you.

FRONTAL - No...however, my brother has killed several this way off the ground...usually within 5 - 15 yards and he just puts it right thru the chest. I am a stand only hunter.

QUARTERING AWAY - Yes.

STRAIGHT DOWN SHOT - I would rather not....bad luck in the past...hard to get a pass thru when shooting this way.

Just wondering what you feel comfortable taking for a shot depending on the position of the animal. I will try to take out all the variable and just say that it is a perfect day, an hour before dark, light to no wind and there is absolutely no obstructions between you and the animal, distance is within your personal shooting limits.

Are you willing to take a...

BROADSIDE SHOT - yes

QUARTERING TO - no

FRONTAL - no

QUARTERING AWAY - yes

STRAIGHT DOWN SHOT - yes

I'm going to let this run for a couple days and then I have a couple more questions for you. Please don't jump anybody if there shot angle is not your own. Thanks

G

Just do not feel comfortable with quartering to and frontal.
