Well...still need those prayers. The tests showed that its still bleeding in his brain. They are planning to open him up and remove it. Not sure when this is going to happen yet...providing no complications in the mean time...dr. will give us 24 hour notice. So the earliest the surgery will happen is Wens. It will be 8-10 hour procedure.

You may not hear from me again for a few days...so please just keep him in your prayers!

Got some time...quick update...the surgery went well and drs expect a full recovery! Thats the good news.

The sucky news for my brother...he will have the worst headache of his life (even with morphine) for the next 2-3 days. He is still critical because the next 4-5 days there could be vaselspasms which could cause seiures and or stroke. Providing how the next few days go...they plan on getting him out of bed and walk. Long term...he may have to take an asprin a day for the rest of his life.

Drs also said that they don't know...but there is a chance he could have a low grade headache everyday for the rest of the day.

He really isn't talking right now...drs aren't concerned yet. I'm going back down to see him tom...hopefully he'll be speaking by then.

Thanks again for all the prayers...if you still have room...keep him in your prayers for another week!

Still in ICU...they are going to monitor his cal. intake to see if he's eating enough...if not they are putting in a feeding tube. They are trying to ween him off the drain in his head. He is saying some words...but not many together.

Slow road...but everyday seems a little better. No major set backs as of yet...so all is good so far.

I'm going down tom. evening and spend the night til Thurs. afternoon...hopefully get him to eat better and take his meds without giving the nurses a hard time.

We are hoping to be out of the ICU and into a reg. recovery room before Christmas!

Prayers from NW PA...sounds like better days lie ahead, hang in there and take extra time to count the blessings of your strong family this Christmas!!!

GOD Bless!

I lived in the Burgh for 22 years, and had my share of family members in the various hospitals there, one thing for sure is medical care in the Burgh is second to none, best wishes for a full recovery and this be nothing but a point in his long and fulfilling life. My family prays for yours.

Just a quick update...

He was moved to another floor...still an ICU unit...but one for patients that are still critical, but stable.

He talks when he wants to...alot of time nods his head when you ask him somthing.

I think he understands why he is there and how important it is to take his meds...but sometimes he don't seem to care and will pick and pull at the wires and tubes . He gets fustrated because of all the wires and tubes...he can't get comfy in bed.

Gonna be a long recovery....but this "step down" (hospitals words) to the other ICU unit is a step in the right direction!
