i can see how it does look like a big black ferral cat....and i can see how it might be a black dog....However, it looks like the creature is not super close to the camera, and it looks like it has short legs with a fat belly....The first thing that came to my mind was a black hog...I don't know if you got em down there by you Ethan, but thats the first thing that came to my mind...

Ive never seen any hogs around here, nor have any of the surrounding landowners. There are some in the state but not alot compared to states South of us.

We occasionally get some darker than normal coyotes around here. In the cropped pic it almost look like the end of a bushy tail sticking out on the other side of that tree it ran behind, but cant really tell.

How close are you to North Lexington, Pulaski County, Saloma, Whitley County, Russell Creek, or Monroe County ??

The links below will explain why I ask.

Im not very close. Most of those sightings described were in far western and far eastern KY, and I live right in the middle. However, my neighbor up the road that we have known many years saw a mountain lion in this area while he was deer hunting several years ago. Also my uncle found cat tracks in the snow that measured about 5 inches across a couple years ago on his farm just 10-12 miles from me. I have no doubt there are mountain lions, pumas, or whatever you want to call them in my area.

I keep looking at this pic and I really think its either some sort of canine or possibly a hog. If it was a hog though, I would have thought that it would be eating my corn right in front of the camera.
