Tominator
At least it happened to another team besides a Cleveland team, and he's not with the BoSox and Yanks.
hoosierhunter
let me guess your mad because he went to a worse team for less years and approximately 60 million less dollars?
muggs
Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, Hamels...he's not stupid. That is a monster rotation.
MCH
Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, Hamels...he's not stupid. That is a monster rotation. On paper, I'd wager its the best starting rotation EVER. In reality? Oswalt and Hamels will not make it the full season without spending some extended time on the DL. But if they're healthy during the post season, there's not an NL lineup that can win a series against them.

Neither was lebron.....He did the same thing....:saber: On paper, I'd wager its the best starting rotation EVER. In reality? ruttinbuc
Cliff Lee was a little puzzled at being let go after helping the Phils get to the Series in 09' He must of really liked it there for him and his family or there is more to the story. Depending what expert you listen too, I guess. There are certainly plenty of them out there.....
clrj3514
On paper, I'd wager its the best starting rotation EVER. Besides Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux.
rhine16
Besides Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux. The 3 in ATL were great. And they had a few good #4s to go with them in Avery, Neagle, and Millwood.
MCH
Besides Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux. Love that rotation. But still not better. They never had anyone with Hamels stuff at the end. Also, one could argue that Halladay>Maddux....Lee=Smoltz.....Oswalt>Glavin.
toddyboman
Besides Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux. those 3 where all good pitchers......but they did get 3 or 4 foot off the plate in every direction on about every outing that helped their success

Chris is probably too young to know that, but Maddux and Glavine definitely benefited from a wide strike zone. As much as I hate to admit it, they probably wouldn't come close to the success they had in the 90s in todays game.
JimT
I love it that he did not go to the Yanks. Played them good. Why they thought he would really go there is beyond me. The NY fans spit, threw stuff at and heckled his wife constantly while they were there. Go Cliff.... haha...
